ACADEMIC RODEO

Stanton-Smith 5th grade students earned 3rd place in the 2015 Academic Rodeo in the Mindset Breaking Experience competition.
 
 

WJHS STUDENTS SKYPE WITH MICROSOFT EXECUTIVE

A group of Whitehouse Junior High School 8th grade students were given the opportunity to participate in some career exploration when Mr. Goodson's Technology Applications students used Skype to talk with Gavin Benedict, a programmer who writes code for Microsoft.

The sessions began with a short biography in which Benedict described how his career path led to Microsoft. The floor was then opened to students’ questions. The questions ranged from serious, such as "How does someone get started with computer programing?" to silly, including "What was your most embarrassing moment?" Goodson stated that the entire experience was very positive and that students will have additional opportunities to talk with other professionals in the future.
 
 

2014 COLLEGE BOARD AP SCHOLAR AWARDS

Seventeen students from Whitehouse High School have earned the designation of AP SCHOLAR by the College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement Program (AP) Exams in the spring of 2014.

2015 NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP COMMENDED STUDENTS

The principal, Mr. Jonathan Campbell, of Whitehouse High School announced today that EMMA M. JONES and SYDNEY L. RAABE have been named Commended Students in the 2015 National Merit Scholarship Program. A Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), which conducts the program, will be presented by the principal to these scholastically talented WHS seniors.

TEA RECOGNIZED 2014 WISD REWARD SCHOOLS

Two Whitehouse Schools were recognized for their achievements during the 2013-2014 school year by the Texas Education Agency. TEA recognized 457 campuses statewide. The TEA has named these top schools “Reward Schools” with classifications in either “high performing” or “high-progress.”
