MONDAY, APRIL 6 TO SERVE AS BAD WEATHER MAKE-UP DAY

Monday, April 6 is a Bad Weather Make-up Day for the Whitehouse School District, necessitated by the weather-related closure of Wednesday, February 25, 2015.

All WISD schools will be open on Monday, April 6 and students and staff should report to schools and offices at normal time.
 

JUMP ROPE FOR HEART CAIN 2015

Cain Elementary students, parents and staff members raised a record setting $7,300 during their American Heart Association Jump Rope for Heart campaign this year.
 

WHITEHOUSE FIRST LADIES EARN TOP AWARDS AT LOCAL COMPETITION

Members of the Whitehouse First Ladies Drill Team competed in the annual Gussie Nell Davis Classic on February 14 in Kilgore. The First Ladies received several awards and honors during the competition. "I am truly blessed to get to work with the First Ladies Drill Team. Their talent, work ethic, and discipline is untouched and I am the lucky one to see each of them grow into amazing young women. I am so proud of the team and all of their accolades," said First Ladies Director Kayla Norman.

BROWN ELEMENTARY 3RD GRADE HONORS MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. DAY

Brown Elementary third grade students volunteered around campus to honor Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. As part of the service project, students assisted the librarian, the school nurse, the custodial staff, the music teacher, the gym teacher and other students on campus. After the experience, the third grade students said they felt good, happy, responsible and helpful for the things they had done.

WJHS Journalism Department and the Art Department hosted the 1st Annual Peanut Butter and Jelly Challenge to benefit PATH (People Attempting to Help). Ms. Conn’s 5th period American History class was the winner of the contest, collecting over 50 jars.

 

WJHS NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY WALKED FOR TOTS

The Whitehouse Junior High School National Junior Honor Society took great strides to provide Christmas gifts for children of Smith County.
