Whitehouse Independent School District held its district-wide assembly on August 22, welcoming both new and familiar faces, as faculty and staff members prepared for the start of school.

Each year, the assembly gathers all district employees together to recognize administrators and staff, honor years of service, recognize Employees of the Year recipients, and set the tone for teachers and staff as they prepare for the new school year.  Listed below are those who received awards.

Dr. Mark Edge, CEO of the Work Edge Company, delivered a message entitled, “Because People Matter.” During his presentation, Dr. Edge delivered a positive and uplifting message that encouraged all who heard it to view everyone including themselves as special.

Dr. Edge shared stories and personal experiences that showcased both expected and unexpected important people in his life. Faculty and staff members were encouraged not only to make each person they encounter know that he or she matters but also to know that they themselves matter.

Many employees expressed that they left the assembly inspired to make the 2014-2015 school year a positive, successful year.
