JUMP ROPE FOR HEART CAIN 2015

 Two Whitehouse High School students and faculty member Holly Mann will remain in the hospital overnight as a result of the three car accident that took place Saturday night.

The accident occurred on Highway 59 in Wharton, Texas. Wharton Police Department officials confirmed that Whitehouse ISD students and faculty were traveling north on Highway 59 when another vehicle traveling south in the northbound lane struck the Whitehouse ISD vehicle.

Whitehouse ISD officials have spoken with Wharton County district attorney Ross Kurtz, who indicated the accident is being investigated as a criminal investigation jointly between the Wharton Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety. Kurtz told officials the driver of the suspect vehicle was given a blood alcohol test.

Kurtz indicated that the driver of the other vehicle had been convicted of two prior Driving While Intoxicated charges.

All other students involved in the accident have returned home.

WHITEHOUSE FIRST LADIES EARN TOP AWARDS AT LOCAL COMPETITION

Members of the Whitehouse First Ladies Drill Team competed in the annual Gussie Nell Davis Classic on February 14 in Kilgore. The First Ladies received several awards and honors during the competition. "I am truly blessed to get to work with the First Ladies Drill Team. Their talent, work ethic, and discipline is untouched and I am the lucky one to see each of them grow into amazing young women. I am so proud of the team and all of their accolades," said First Ladies Director Kayla Norman.

Two Whitehouse Independent School District vehicles that were transporting Whitehouse High school students were involved in a vehicle accident late Saturday night in Wharton Texas.

Several students and one teacher were transported to a Wharton hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries and have all since been treated and released. Two students and one faculty member were taken by care-flight to a Houston hospital and remain hospitalized as of Sunday morning.

All parents of students involved in the accident are aware of the situation.

The vehicles were traveling from Corpus Christi where they had attended a Career and Technical Education Contest.

 

BROWN ELEMENTARY 3RD GRADE HONORS MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. DAY

District News
Brown Elementary third grade students volunteered around campus to honor Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. As part of the service project, students assisted the librarian, the school nurse, the custodial staff, the music teacher, the gym teacher and other students on campus. After the experience, the third grade students said they felt good, happy, responsible and helpful for the things they had done.
