Whitehouse Independent School District Board Members honored the WISD Principals and Assistant Principals during Monday’s regular school board meeting as part of Governor Rick Perry’s declaration designating October 2014 as Principals Month.

To help show appreciation, the WHS Culinary Arts Department prepared snacks and desserts for the WISD administrative staff and board members.

The regular meeting was held at Whitehouse High School. The board members toured the facility as part of the meeting. WHS Principal Jonathan Campbell showed board members completed renovations to the life skills classrooms and upgrades to the Culinary Arts Department. Board President Vince Primo complimented WHS staff on the cleanliness, maintenance and upkeep of the 14-year-old building.

In other business during Monday’s meeting, board members:

Approved the minutes, financial reports, tax report, quarterly investment report and donations;

Approved an easement for Oncor Electric Delivery Company, LLC;

Approved Campus Improvement Plans;

Approved policy revision to DC (LOCAL): Employment Practices;

Approved an out of state trip for High School Culinary Arts students;

Reviewed informational items, including new hires and resignations/terminations, the ESL report for 2013-2014, the Life Track Senior Survey, board training opportunities, and the purchase of 2 school buses.
